Many Believers long for the day when Jesus Christ shall return and rule and reign over all the Earth.
However, according to Scriptures, Jesus is and has been ruling over all the Earth ever since His resurrection! It seems that much of prophecy, even the points regarding His present dominion over all the Earth, have been washed down to some future time, when all the while they have been true for thousands of years.
Hebrews 10:12-13 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
The Book of Hebrews teaches us that Christ sat down once and for all after the sacrifice of the cross, having finished any work that was necessary to be accomplished. And after that seating, we read that His finished work so complete that He sits expecting the ramifications of that work to eventually put all enemies beneath His footstool. And He is going to continue to sit on this throne until a certain point, according to additional words of Paul.
1 Corinthians 15:24-28 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet . The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
